EchoMinds — Privacy Policy

EchoMinds is designed with privacy at its core. Your notes never leave your device.

Data that stays on your device

• Notes and folders — stored locally in an on-device SQLite database.
• Semantic embeddings — generated on-device using a locally downloaded machine-learning model. Embeddings are stored in a local vector database and are never transmitted.
• Search queries — processed entirely on-device against your local embeddings. No query text is sent to any server.

Network requests the app makes

EchoMinds makes two optional network requests, neither of which transmits your personal data:

1. Embedding model download — On first launch, the app downloads a pre-trained embedding model from Hugging Face (huggingface.co). This is a one-time download of a public model file. No user data is sent.
2. Help notes download — If you choose "Load EchoMinds Help Notes" in Settings, the app downloads a public CSV file from GitHub (github.com). No user data is sent.

Data we collect

None. EchoMinds does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data, usage analytics, crash reports, or telemetry.

Third-party services

EchoMinds does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.

The network requests described above connect to Hugging Face and GitHub solely to download public files. These services may log standard HTTP request metadata (such as IP address) according to their own privacy policies. EchoMinds does not control or have access to any such logs.

Data sharing

We do not share any data with third parties because we do not collect any data.

Data retention and deletion

All data is stored locally on your device. Deleting the app removes all notes, embeddings, and settings. You can also delete all notes at any time from Settings.

Children's privacy

EchoMinds does not collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If we update this policy, the revised version will be posted alongside the app. The effective date at the top will be updated accordingly.
